Site Update: 12/13/04 New Pictures Added
Several new picture sets have been added to the site. You'll find outings such as PCT hikes from 2002, the Philmont 2003 trip and this year's Wonderland Trail excursion. You can also view these pictures in a new slide show format. It's now much easier to sort through all the photos and much faster to load for slower connections.
Troop News: 12/13/04 Memorial Service Dec. 15 for Pastor Judson Crary at Good Shepherd
The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, and Troop 266, mourn the passing - and celebrate the life - of Good Shepherd's founding pastor. Pastor Judson Crary died on Nov. 23, 2004, in Sheldon, Iowa, where he had moved to be near a daughter and her family. The memorial service at Good Shepherd will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at 4:00 p.m., preceded by a graveside service at Olympic Memorial Gardens at 3:00 p.m.
Pastor Crary was 93 years of age. He led the first worship service at Good Shepherd on Palm Sunday, 1957, in the original sanctuary - which is now Crary Hall. At that time, Good Shepherd consisted of what is now Crary Hall and the adjoining kitchen. None of the rest of the church had been built. The church was built in an orchard - very fitting, in light of Jesus's instructions to his disciples to bear good fruit. Pastor Crary and his late wife, Dorothea, planted the seeds of faith in countless lives through their ministry. All of us who are part of the Troop 266 Scouting family give thanks for the life and example of Pastor and Mrs. Crary. Without them, Troop 266 would not exist today. To this day, Troop 266 honors Pastor and Mrs. Crary each time that we go Christmas caroling. Beginning in 1992 until Pastor Crary moved to Iowa, we gathered at the Crary house (and later at Olympics West residential center) to sing Christmas carols.

The new website layout has been uploaded. The third incarnation of the website is even easier and quicker to use! You'll find the "sky blue" version is very similar to the former black and gold layout. As always, the main navigation menu is at the top. You'll find most of the sections are already familiar. The events page has been renamed to picture and the misc section was added. Your input is appreciated.
